If your computer slows down, lags, or becomes unresponsive when you launch and use OneScreen, this is often caused by Hardware Acceleration competing for your GPU resources during recording. Turning it off in your Windows settings can resolve this.
Turn Off Hardware Acceleration in Windows
- Click the Start menu and open Settings.
- Go to System > Display.
- Scroll down and click Graphics (or Graphics settings, depending on your Windows version).
- Under Default graphics settings, locate Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
- Toggle it Off.
- Restart your computer for the change to take effect.
- Relaunch OneScreen and try recording again.
Note: If you're using OneScreen as a browser extension, your browser may have its own separate hardware acceleration setting (for example, in Chrome under Settings > System > Use hardware acceleration when available). If turning it off in Windows doesn't resolve the slowdown, check and disable this setting in your browser as well.
